Delightful chocolate cookies with a cracked surface, coated in powdered sugar, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  8. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have crinkled and the edges are set.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure the dough is well-chilled before baking for the best texture. Roll cookie balls generously in powdered sugar.
