French Onion Chicken Casserole

A comforting and delicious casserole combining the flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken and gooey cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked rice or pasta
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine shredded chicken, French onion soup, sour cream, cooked rice or pasta, half of the cheddar cheese, and green onions in a large bowl. Mix well.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a green salad or crusty bread. For extra flavor, sauté onions before adding them to the casserole.
