A delightful loaf cake made with sour cream and milk for a moist texture and subtle tangy flavor, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix together the sour cream, milk, and oil in a bowl.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve sliced, preferably warm, with butter, jam, or cream cheese. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
