Classic Manicotti

A comforting dish filled with cheese and topped with rich marinara sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 12 manicotti pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Mix together the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Stuff each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining marinara sauce and additional mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side salad and garlic bread. Sprinkle fresh basil or parsley on top for added flavor.
